      Product description

      In the North, mustard sauce traditionally has a somewhat more sour flavour and a thinner consistency. This is because the English introduced the mustard and vinegar here long ago, giving this sauce its distinctive character. In the South, the sauce was influenced by the French, who added some sugar to the sauce alongside the mustard. Our own Carolina Style Golden is inspired by this latter Southern variant. Due to a longer cooking time, the sharp flavour of the mustard diminishes somewhat and it slowly becomes sweeter, until it is perfectly balanced.
