    My boyfriend Dennis and I could always be found in the woods every weekend. With planks under our arms, pockets full of nails and screws and armed with a screwdriver and hammer, we walked from home to our construction site among the trees. Building huts, in wind or rain, it didn't matter. If we were hungry in the afternoon, we would simply build a fire, grab a pointed branch and stick a sausage, frikandel or something else edible on it.

    Dennis is now a colleague of mine and we still have a sausage over the fire from time to time. Only not with a branch, but with our handy stainless steel skewers. Ideal during a garden party or indoors by the fireplace! Oh yes, as for that frikandel, it's better to prepare it in a deep fryer...
