      With the Shield Large from The Bastard, you get even more control over the heat in your kamado. This sturdy cast-iron heat deflector is designed for indirect grilling and low & slow cooking on suitable The Bastard Large models. The solid cast iron shields direct radiant heat from the charcoal and helps distribute the heat evenly throughout the kamado. Ideal for slowly cooking spareribs, pulled pork, brisket and other dishes where a stable temperature is important. You place the Shield in the multilevel system and combine it with two half-moon heat deflectors or a suitable Dynamic Twist Deflector. This creates one large indirect cooking zone, allowing you to barbecue for extended periods with precise control.
