      This traditional red-brown barbecue sauce is thick and full of flavor. The sweet taste of brown sugar and smoked hickory wood is combined with a touch of black pepper.

      The story of Sweet Baby Rays:
      It all started in 1985, when Larry Raymond, a local Chicago boy and chef, perfected the family BBQ sauce recipe. With the sweet, spicy BBQ sauce he participated in the largest sparerib competition in the country, the Mike Royko Rib-off. He won the 1st prize out of 700 participants. That says enough. He named the sauce after the nickname his little brother, David, once got while playing basketball on Chicago's West Side - "Sweet Baby Ray." The rest, as they say, is history. The Sweet Baby Rays range now consists of many tasty flavors, but all true to the slogan: The sauce is the boss!
