      The PK stainless steel hinged grille is made of 304 stainless steel. Borrowing a quote from Meathead Goldwyn, "Because it contains more nickel and less steel in the alloy, 304 is of higher quality and higher cost" (than the most common 430 stainless steel). You will find 304 stainless steel in many of the PK Grill's new and future accessories

      This unique hinged cooking grate replaces the standard nickel-steel grate. It includes heavier gauge wire, a reinforced hinge with vertical stop (so it won't fall back on your food), and a handy tab on the hinge side to make it easier to open and close with pliers or gloves on. Anyone who owns a classic PK Grill & Smoker will want to upgrade to this cooking surface. The stainless steel hinged grille fits all PKs produced since 1997. For older (or unknown) year models, check that the inside of your grill fits properly.
