    The stainless steel hinged cooking grate from PK is made of 304 stainless steel. To borrow a quote from Meathead Goldwyn, "Because it contains more nickel and less steel in the alloy, 304 is of higher quality and higher cost" (than the more common 430 stainless steel). You will find 304 stainless steel in many of the new and upcoming accessories from PK Grill

    This unique hinged cooking grate replaces the standard nickel-steel grate. It features heavier-gauge wire, a reinforced hinge with a vertical stop (so it does not fall back onto your food), and a convenient tab on the hinge side, making it easier to open and close with tongs or gloves on. Anyone who owns a classic PK Grill & Smoker will want to upgrade to this cooking surface. The stainless steel hinged grate fits all PK's produced since 1997. For older (or unknown) year models, check that the inside of your grill is a proper fit.
