This combination of birch and oak firewood offers the best of both worlds: a quick atmosphere boost and long-lasting warmth. Birch burns quickly and brightly, making it ideal for those who enjoy a cosy fire. It creates a beautiful flame display and a characteristic crackling sound from the bark. Thanks to its soft structure, birch is easy to light and gives off heat quickly. It is suitable for almost any stove, but less suitable for larger open fireplaces.

Oak is known for its long, slow burn. Of all the common types of wood in the Netherlands, oak burns the longest, provided it is properly dried. Compared with other types of wood, oak produces a calmer and less exuberant flame display. Oak bark also naturally contains more tannin, which can cause additional creosote buildup when the wood is insufficiently dry. That is why we only supply guaranteed kiln-dried oak, for safe and clean burning.

For lighting, we recommend kindling and firelighters using the Swiss lighting method. The logs are normally split and measure approximately 25 cm in length. For the best burning results, this firewood is best used with at least 3 logs at a time.

All our birch and oak firewood is completely free from mould and pests and ready for immediate use. The wood is delivered in a sturdy wooden crate, tightly stacked. Please note! Unfortunately, this crate cannot be returned.
